    • Crystalline Basalt: Aphanitic/ Aphyric; Vesicularity:Poor to Moderately vesicular; Ves-Textures:Spherical, subspherical, polylobate, and convoluted vesicles (less than 1-5mm) concentrated in domains and planes; Jointing:Fractured/jointed with secondary minerals; Contacts:Upper contact not preserved, bottom of core section is fractured, 118-2 and 118-3 consist of blocky fragments of 118-1 basalts.; Comments:Microcrystalline groundmass. Upper portion is dense and aphyric/aphanitic but this passes downwards (along section length) into olivine-plagioclase-phyric poor-moderately vesicular basalt. "phenocrysts" are = 1 mm in size with an abundance of ~1%.
